Samsung carves the thinnest mobile
Samsung today has officially unveiled that it is about to launch the skinniest mobile phone ever made. The device is 6.9mm thin, which means that it has surpassed Motorola’s SLVR of 11.5mm in its thinness. Its advertisement pictures flashed the websites around the world. The shot features two Russian ladies holding the new Samsung and demonstrating how wafer-thin it is from Red Square.
The razor-thin mobile is a bit thicker at the top of the handset where a two-megapixel camera is installed. The device is packed in with Bluetooth, boasts an 80MB of built-in memory, USB port and a media player that supports various formats, including MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and WMA.
The SGH-X820 is as light as a feather and weighs 66g. With such dimensions it can easily fit even the smallest of clutches. The other parameters of the device are 113mm x 50mm.
It is understood that mobile phones, unlike humans, are still either slim or smart. Producers and developers are striving for perfection and to attain the best combination. With the SGH-X820, its design and style are rather traditional; the keypad is conventional Samsung, while the keys are separate.
The Samsung model in question supports GPRS/EDGE data on 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHz GSM bands. It has a 1.9″, 176×220 pixel display rich with 262k colors. It can be viewed in landscape mode for some functions.
The mobile is targeted mainly at boasters, who want to slip the device into their wallets. The price of the novelty is still unknown, but the sources say it might be rather “hefty.”
Samsung is one of the leaders on the present-day market of mobile devices. Their devices are often characterized as of a “higher-price” range. They are reliable and packed in with the most advanced applications and functions. Samsung also produces various electronics and is “a proud sponsor of numerous sports events.”
